Small online classes where Muslim children in the USA and Canada learn Quran, Aqeedah, and Islamic studies from qualified, caring teachers — in a nurturing environment they actually love.
We believe Islamic education should feel personal, not institutional. Here's what makes DSA different.
Your child isn't lost in a crowd. Our tiny classes mean real attention, real connection, and real progress.
Alimah degrees, Zaytuna College graduates, ijazas in Tajweed, and years of experience — our teachers earned their knowledge the traditional way.
Parents tell us their kids look forward to class. We nurture love for the deen — not just memorization.
Live Zoom classes taught by teachers in the US who understand your child's world.
Everything your child needs to build a strong, confident Muslim identity.
Students learn the Arabic primer (Qaida), proper recitation with Tajweed, and recite the entire Quran.
This is the foundation of Muslim identity; students learn not just what we believe, but why we believe it.
Students learn hadith-based etiquettes for building strong, respectful relationships in everyday life.
This is our connection to Allah. Students learn the significance of prayers and how to perform them in everyday life.
This is the key to prayer. Students learn the importance of purification, wudu, and tayyamum.
Older students learn the rules of fasting and how it deepens our consciousness of Allah.

Founder & Teacher
Born in Afghanistan and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Azima earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from UC Davis and studied Arabic, Fiqh, and Hadith sciences at Zaytuna Institute. During a year in Damascus she earned an ijaza in Tajweed from the late Shaykh Muhiuddeen al Kurdi (r.a.), and in 2020 she completed her alimah degree at Zaynab Institute. That same year she launched Deen Sprout Academy with a few students — it has since grown to more than 100, entirely by word of mouth. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and three children.
Teacher
Born and raised in Toronto, Naila's love for the Qur'an was nurtured at the qiraat competitions of the Islamic Foundation of Toronto. She completed the dars-e-nizami alimiyyah program with Zaynab Institute in 2024, earned an ijazah in Hafs in 2019, and received her ijazah in the 10 variant readings in 2021. She teaches hoping to instill in her students the same love for the Qur'an her childhood teacher gave her, and lives in Toronto with her husband and son.
Teacher
Sahal is a graduate student at Zaytuna College who enjoys studying Arabic literature (adab), ethics (akhlaq), and philosophy of law (usul al-fiqh). In his free time, he recites Arabic poetry and serves as a tutor.
Teacher
Born and raised in Toronto, Ruqayyah completed the 7-year Aalimiyyah program in 2022. She taught children to read the Qur'an from her home for several years, then spent two years in Montréal teaching Qur'an at an institute both in person and online. She enjoys reading, painting, and baking, and lives in Mississauga with her husband and two children.
Teacher
Nabil is a graduate of both the bachelor's and master's programs at Zaytuna College in Berkeley, CA — an avid student of the Islamic sciences with a particular passion for Qur'anic studies and fiqh. He is currently pursuing a JD in the hopes of serving the American Muslim community as a practicing attorney. When he's not in his books, he journals, plays sports with friends, and takes long, scenic drives with a podcast on.
Teacher
Malik is an undergraduate student in Islamic Studies and Liberal Arts at Zaytuna College, passionate about communicating traditional Islam in a way that resonates with Muslims in modern contexts. When not in the Bay Area for school, he lives in the Detroit metro area and stays active in its Muslim communities.
Teacher
Ruqayyah is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal and Islamic Studies at Zaytuna College, with academic interests in discursive theology (kalam), logic (mantiq), and lexicology (lughah). She loves serving the community by teaching children the fundamentals of Qur'anic and Islamic studies.
Teacher
Maryam holds a PhD in Bioengineering alongside an Alimah degree, combining a strong background in both science and Islamic studies. A licensed substitute teacher with experience teaching 3rd through 7th grade, she loves creating positive, engaging classrooms that encourage curiosity, confidence, and growth. In her free time she gardens, reads history, and works on memorizing surahs and refining her recitation.
